Every once in while we run across a new gadget that makes us wonder, “How did we ever survive without one of these?” Well, the PopSocket is at the top of that list. Originally designed as a phone grip and stand, this little popper seems to have an endless number of uses, especially when mounted on a companion PopClip.
The PopSocket is simple, stylish and easy to use. Its 1.5-inch diameter plastic disk lays flat when not in use, and then pops out about an inch on an accordion-style, soft polyurethane mechanism—just enough to comfortably slip your fingers between the disk and phone, allowing easy, secure, one-handed holding. It’s perfect for phones, tablets, or any mobile device, and can also be used as a stand for hands-free viewing, or as a cord-wrap for your earbuds. In fact, we’ve been using them for lots of things that the designers probably never envisioned—like attaching them to a mirror to hang jewelry.
PopSockets adhere to most materials, and are designed to be removed and reattached up to 100 times, allowing you to reposition it as needed, or use it on multiple devises. If the adhesive gets dirty and doesn’t stick, just give it a rinse in water, let it dry, and reapply.
